Note that both the "updater.cfg files, the main cfg one and the "_beta" one as well, are both required to update to v1.07. This brings us to v1.07 (beta) currently, and this version can only be accessed via the beta channel in the Skunkcrafts updater. Basically then the last two up dates with v1.05 (October) and v1.06 (December) and both were focused on X-Plane 12. The focus on updates then went to X-Plane 12, just released in the same September. but by the time the Skunkcrafts Updater was added in September 2022 (beta access was also introduced). From updates v1.0 to v1.04 the lists were endless. Yes there were a lot of bugs in the MD-11 original release. basically though, for anyone one not prolific in heavy aircraft systems and new to flying heavies, the Rotate MD-11 was always going to be a mountain to climb.įor a comprehensive look at the aircraft, here is the X-PlaneReviews review of the release Aircraft Review : McDonnell Douglas MD-11 by Rotate
#Rotate md11 simulator
The flight profiles were extremely complicated, as was the aircraft's management systems, it made a "Study" aircraft more like a university degree, and it took me a few weeks to work it all out, worse was that many users became fixated on the last quality MD-11 that was released for Flight Simulator a decade before, very good in it's time, but not relevant to the Rotate MD-11. My first flights on the beta aircraft confirmed the worst, it was an extremely complicated machine, as the design straddled the era between the earlier 1970's analog dial, to the current glass computerised cockpits we fly today. With such extreme expectations the release of the McDonnell Douglas MD-11, the iconic Tri-Jet was always going to be controversial. This was the most anticipated release of the year, four years in development, and even by X-Plane standards that is a long time. Nearly one year ago in March 2022, Rotate released their second major aircraft release after their well renowned McDonnell Douglas MD-80. Whilst being outside aircraft, the video shows that all Anti-Collision, Nav, Strobe, and Landing Lights are fully operable.Aircraft Update Review : McDonnell Douglas MD-11 v1.07 by Rotate Viewers then get to see the flight deck being fully lit at night, with all panel and screen brightness fully on. Back into the cockpit, viewers can see the level of detail that has been put into the aircraft, with finger prints on the navigation display screen. Moving on, the video then shows off a close up of one of the engines, highlighting more of the texture and modeling work that Rotate has done on the engines. After that, it cuts to the exterior of the MD-11 demonstrating the intricate detailing and animation of the operable exterior cargo door while also having a quick glance at the cargo hold of the freighter aircraft. We then get a brief look at both the Captain’s Yoke, and the overhead panel, being fully lit. The video then cuts to the flight deck, where it pans around behind the Captain’s and First Officers seats, giving a brief overlook at the flight deck of the aircraft. The segment looks over the flaps, slats, and the 3rd engine that the aircraft is known for. Starting off, the video shows the main left wing and tail engine/tail of the aircraft, in great detail, users are welcomed to the familiar texture work of Rotate through their previous MD-80 release. After being confirmed that the aircraft had entered beta back in October, this “early look” video showcases all of the high points of both the interior and exterior modeling, alongside a close look at the instruments and screens, and other aspects of the freighter aircraft.
